Basil instructs to turn of all street lights from today
Minister Basil Rajapaksa has instructed all heads of Local Government bodies to turn off all street lights from today (07) until March 31st.
The move is proposed in a bid to conserve power.
He has also urged them to inform him on alternative measures that could be taken to conserve power that will have a minimal impact on the daily lives of the public.
‘I kindly expect your direct intervention to fulfil your national responsibility’ the letter further notes.
