Man, who received historic pig heart transplant dies
The first person to receive a genetically modified pig heart through groundbreaking surgery, 57-year-old David Bennett Sr. has died, according to foreign media reports.
Bennet suffered from a terminal heart ailment. Scientists and medical researchers worked together to modify the genes in a pig’s body in a laboratory to suit Bennett’s heart and later transplanted to Bennett. This transplant which was performed on January 07th was considered historical in the medical field.
