AMOUNT OF 130 MILLION SPENT ON OVERSEAS “COCONUT EXHIBITIONS” REVEALS COPE BETWEEN 2017 TO 2019

130 million spent for ‘coconut exhibitions’ overseas

The Parliamentary Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) in its latest report states that the Coconut Development Authority has spent over Rs. 130 million to hold exhibitions overseas.

Out of this, around Rs.3.5 million has been spent on travel expenses for the participating officials.

This amount had been spent on overseas exhibitions during the period from 2017 to 2019.

Meanwhile, the COPE Committee had instructed the Coconut Development Board to submit a report regarding the colossal expenditure spent on such overseas exhibitions.
