Reveal truth about drug shortage!
The Medical and Civil Rights Physicians’ Trade Union Alliance urges the government to reveal to the public the real risk of a drug shortage in the country.
Given the current situation in the country, the media and trade unions have continuously reported that a shortage of drugs was inevitable and they had written to the Minister of State for Supply and Distribution Prof. Channa Jayasumana urging him to reveal the accurate details regarding the current situation pertaining to state and private sector stocks, supply and distribution.
Taking into consideration the situation in the country, the Secretary of the Alliance, Dr. T.W.M.A. Jayaruwan Bandara, requested that a program be prepared to distribute the drugs equally to the public through the public and private sectors.
