SAJITH OPTS TO HAVE A SNAP PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION WITH TWO THIRD MAJORITY IN PARLIAMENT

Hold a Presidential Election promptly – Sajit

Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa says a Presidential Election must be held with the approval of a two-thirds majority in Parliament.

Speaking following the protest march organized by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya opposite the Presidential Secretariat MP Premadasa said various groups made false statements to incite racism and ensure victory at the 2019 Presidential Election adding people are facing the consequences at present.

The Opposition Leader called on the government including President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Minister of Finance Basil Rajapaksa to resign, if they are incapable of governing.

The MP gave an assurance to the public that three Middle Eastern countries agreed to provide fuel for three years without any upfront payment to a SJB-led government.
