Sathosa issues circular specifying purchasing restrictions!
Lanka Sathosa has issued circulars stating the restrictions on selling items such as rice, sugar and dhal to consumers when purchases are made through Lanka Sathosa.
Accordingly, a maximum of 05 kg of Samba rice under all wholesale numbers, a maximum of 05 kg of Nadu rice under all wholesale numbers, a maximum of 500 g of red dhal, and a maximum of 01 kg of white or red sugar under all wholesale numbers can be purchased through Sathosa.
It also states that for these items to be purchased, another item needs to be purchased.
When purchasing this item, if the bill value is over Rs. 500, the customer has the opportunity of purchasing a 100g packet of turmeric powder, the circular states.
The circular further states that disciplinary action will be taken against any Sathosa employees who violate these restrictions.
