NAMES OF FIVE CANDIDATES PROPOSED TO PRIME MINISTER POST IN AN INTERIM GOVERNMENT

Five names tipped for PM post ; Ranil in close relations with embassies!

Five names have been tipped for the post of Prime Minister of the interim government proposed by the current government and opposition.

Ranil Wickremesinghe of the United National Party, Nimal Siripala de Silva of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Patali Champika Ranawaka and Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka of the Samagi Jana Balawega as well as Dullas Alahapperuma from the independent 10 parties have been nominated in this manner.

Meanwhile, it is said that Ranil Wickremesinghe had met with several European diplomatic leaders and briefed them on the prevailing economic situation.It is said that the need of an interim government and its tenure had also been discussed.The UNP leader has also discussed his idea of formulating a new operational government involving a mix of senior and junior MPs, not exceeding 10 members.

He has added that a large amount of money could be saved by reconnecting ministries which can be joined to each other and all these ministers’ proposals should be passed only with the majority vote of the parliament.
