Addressing a media gathering on Friday(15), New State Minister of Agriculture, Shantha Bandara has requested public not to protest in front of his residence.

Area residents were seen protesting in front of the newly appointed state minister’s house in Maharachchimulla on Thursday (14) as a mark of objection against the MP swearing in as a State Minister, supporting the Government.

Addressing the media yesterday (15), the State Minister requested people not to protest in front of his house as he has a young daughter who had not eaten anything after being intimidated due to the protest which took place opposite his house.

Earlier this week, Shantha Bandara was sworn in as the State Minister of Agriculture despite the SLFP lead parliamentary group deciding to quit the government and become independent in Parliament. (NewsWire)
