Police curfew imposed in Rambukkana
Police curfew has been imposed in the Rambukkana Police area with immediate effect.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa confirmed that Police curfew has been imposed in the area until further notice.
SSP Thalduwa requested the public in the Rambukkana Police area to remain within their residences as violating curfew will be considered an act of disrupting public law and order.
He also requested individuals travelling through the Rambukkana Police area to resort to alternative routes during this period.Meanwhile, the number of injured persons due to the clashes in the area had increased to 24.
Eight among the injured are reportedly policemen.Earlier, Police confirmed that officers opened fire at protesters after the situation in the area turned violent and one person succumbed to injuries.
