SRI LANKA IN DEBT TO CHINA FOR TWELVE OIL SHIPMENTS SINCE JULY 2021 TO JANUARY 2022

Payments pending for 12 oil shipments from China!

China has provided 730,000 MT of fuel to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation with a value of US$ 500 million from July 2021 – January 2022.

This was revealed by the Chinese ambassador to Sri Lanka – Mr. Qi Zhenhong today (25) during a free & open dialogue with a group of local journalists.

Sri Lanka has already paid only for 07 out of the 19 oil shipments made with US$ 390 million of payments yet to be made.
