Can the bond case proceed or not
The defendants in the bond scam case had informed the High Court trial-at-bar in Colombo today (29) that they were raising preliminary objections stating that the case filed by the Attorney General against 10 accused, including former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran, cannot proceed.
The case was taken up today (29) before a three-judge bench comprising Champa Janaki Rajaratne, Damith Thotawatte and Namal Balalle.
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) filed a lawsuit controversial bond scam alleging that Rs. 688 million was misappropriated in a bond auction in 2015.
