COPE calls for probe over awarding LPG Tender at higher price
The Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) has recommended to hold an investigation through the Auditor General’s Department as to why a LPG Tender was awarded to a bidder with a higher price after cancelling a Cabinet approved Tender from Siam Gas Company.
The recommendation was made by the COPE chairman – Prof. Charitha Herath when the committee met yesterday (05).
Siam Gas Trading Pte Ltd’s bid of US$ 96 per MT was cancelled and the Tender was awarded to Oman (OQ) Trading which quoted the price of $129 per MT.
