Govt. hasn’t spent Rs. 400mn on MR – President
President Ranil Wickremesinghe says the government has not spent Rs.400 million on former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
However, the President clarified that it is the duty of ensure the welfare of former Presidents and the widows of former Presidents.
President Wickremesinghe made this statement in Parliament today (31) during the debate on the second reading of the 2021 Appropriation (Amendment) Bill.
He had arrived in Parliament this morning to observe the interim budget debate.
