MR-led new alliance in the making
A new political alliance will be formed under the leadership of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa said.
Speaking at an event held at Dedigama yesterday (11), he said the SLPP will act as the main constituent of the new alliance and the discussions already commenced with political parties in this regard were successful.
The MP said many programmes have been launched to protect the SLPP’s political power base and to face the upcoming elections with confidence.
Mr. Rajapaksa said the SLPP will provide leadership to develop the country through the new alliance and to fulfill the aspirations of the people which could not be fulfilled.
