Minister of Justice Wijeyadasa Rajapaksha today revealed that an individual named Chamara Gunasekara has allegedly received a sum of US dollars 250 million as a bribe to prevent compensation due to Sri Lanka by the company that owned the ill-fated X-Press Pearl cargo ship that caught fire.

“I am revealing this on information I have received and cannot be responsible for these revelations” Minister said in Parliament revealing the name and bank account details of an individual named Chamara Gunasekara.
