Colombo businesswoman – Thilini Priyamali has accused media stations such as ‘Ada Derana’ and ‘Esana’ of publishing distorted news about her without checking facts.
In a voice clip, she was referring to media reports over a court case involving her, which was taken up by the Colombo High Court today (05).
She explains that the particular case was filed by one Samith Anurudda, who was her boyfriend back in 2013, over the sale of a vehicle which had gone awry.
Noting that her ex-boyfriend is now demanding a sum of Rs. 6.8 million in a case filed at the High Court, she points out that the figure of 08 million reported by these media stations is wrong.
“I didn’t appear before the court because I was ill. The sum is Rs. 6.8 million… Not 08 million. Why is the responsible media of the country lying like this?,” she asks.
“Under the guise of reporting, they are portraying me as an offender,” she adds.
