The CID investigation on the infamous sugar tax scam has concluded and the relevant documents have been handed over to the Attorney General for litigation purposes, State Minister of Finance – Ranjith Siyambalapitiya states.
Speaking in Parliament today (24), he said that the AG response has also been received.
Mr. Siyambalapitiya also said that the Inland Revenue Department has conducted a forensic audit on 12 companies and has recovered Rs. 310 million from the profits 06 companies had accumulated.
The State Minister was responding to a query raised by Opposition Leader – Sajith Premadasa on the sugar scam.
