Cannabis, Marijuana, Hashish users among heavy vehicle drivers!
Around 10% to 12% of heavy vehicle drivers have been identified as driving under the influence of drugs, said the President of the National Institute of Transport Medicine Dr. Savindra Gamage.He stated that this was revealed during a series of medical examinations conducted on heavy vehicle drivers.
He said investigations revealed that heavy vehicle drivers were using drugs such as marijuana, hashish and cannabis.
He said that the heavy vehicle drivers were tested due to the rising number of accidents involving heavy vehicle drivers.
