Sri Lanka Telecom gets new chairman
Sri Lanka Telecom PLC (SLT) has appointed Dr. Mothilal de Silva as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective November 4, 2024.
The appointment follows a recommendation from the company’s Nominations and Governance Committee and marks a significant leadership transition for the national telecommunications provider.
Dr. de Silva brings extensive experience in corporate strategy, business development, and operational excellence. He is known for his successful restructuring of Telecom Fiji Ltd, where he led the state-owned company back to profitability after years of losses. Prior to this, Dr. de Silva held leadership roles at Dialog Axiata and MTN Networks, contributing to their strategic and operational successes.
