Information Desk for MPs of new Parliament concludes
The Information Desk for Members of Parliament to facilitate the inaugural sitting of the first session of the Tenth Parliament of Sri Lanka has successfully concluded.
According to a Parliament statement, the Information Desk was held within the Parliamentary Complex on 19 and 20 November 2024.
This initiative saw the participation of over 200 Members of Parliament, including first-time elected MPs.
During the event, essential information and documents beneficial to all Members of Parliament were provided. Activities included capturing photographs of MPs’ ID cards and obtaining fingerprints for the electronic voting system.
Additionally, in preparation for the inaugural sitting of the first session of the new Parliament, an online system was introduced via the Parliamentary website. This allowed MPs to submit the required information digitally, further streamlining the process.
The first session of the 10th Parliament of Sri Lanka will get underway tomorrow (21 Nov). (Newswire)
