Minister Vidura prevented from declaring open new cultural centre
State Minister Vidura Wickramanayke faced protest by Ampara Sri Lanka Podujana Party MP W.D. Weerasinghe, while at the opening ceremony of the Ampara Damana Cultural Centre.
The protest was because MP Weerasinghe was not informed of the event.A group that arrived with MP Weerasinghe then interrupted the official event, and prevented the building from been declared open.
The building was constructed by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, and the ministry is under the purview of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
