Ministers urge government to seek IMF assistance to resurrect the country!
The ministers urged the government at yesterday’s (14) Cabinet meeting again to seek the assistance of the International Monetary Fund to resurrect the country from the financial crisis it is currently facing.
The ministers said Sri Lanka had dealt with the International Monetary Fund on 16 occasions and that getting their support at this moment was not difficult.
Accordingly, the Cabinet has decided to seek the technical and advisory assistance of the International Monetary Fund to resolve the foreign exchange crisis and to take a decision on obtaining financial assistance at the Economic Council meeting to be held today (15).
This decision was taken at the Cabinet meeting that was held at the Presidential Secretariat under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
