The Public Health Inspector’s union says that food sold in shops which are stored in refrigerators are in risk of expiration before the marked expiry dates, due to the ongoing power cuts in the country.
President of the PHI’s union Upul Rohana says that following raids carried out so far in the month of March, action has been taken against 407 vendors who sold such food.
Therefore, Upul Rohana urged the public to be more cautious when purchasing food items stored in refrigerators.
