Question paper banks will stop leaks – Exams Chief
Commissioner General of Examinations Amith Jayasundara said a new mechanism will be implemented to stop question paper leaks.
Accordingly, a question paper bank will be established to stop the leak of examination papers.
He said that the establishment of this question paper bank can be done by 2026 and thus the question papers can be prevented from leaking prior to the exams.
He also said that under this new method, examination papers can be kept safely by doing the preparation of question papers through the computer system instead of human involvement.
He further said that at present, leaking of the examination papers has become a problem and the offence is due
to a problem of trust placed on individuals. However he emphasized that this situation is not a problem related to the examination system at all.
It is said that during the conduct of Grade 5 Scholarship Examination, Ordinary Level Examination and Advanced Level Examination leaking of examination papers has been a severe problem for the recent past. However, the necessary technology is currently available to end that issue and the question paper bank is being operated and created using that novel technology and security measures.
