Can’t lie about sudden relief – Sajith
Opposition Leader – Sajith Premadasa says that in the economic bankruptcy that the country is facing, it is not possible to lie that relief will be given suddenly to the people.
A special meeting took place between the groups representing the ‘Aragalaya’ and the Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa this morning (18) at the Opposition Leader’s office in Colombo.
Speaking further, the opposition leader said that an interim government should be formed to achieve the goals of a certain program.
Mr. Premadasa also said that although the activists had set dates for the interim governments, if the goals were not met within the relevant period, that government would also “fail”. Meanwhile, in a Tweet, Mr. Premadasa has said “Imposition of Emergency is an undemocratic draconian act. Peace loving citizens of our motherland have the sacred privilege to exercise their fundamental rights in a democratic society. Long live democracy.”
