Six-hour prior notice required for protests

The police should be informed six hours prior to commencing a protest seeking approval, Acting Defense Minister Pramitha Bandara Tennakoon said.

Speaking at a news briefing held at the Government Information Department, the minister said that there is no obstacle to peaceful protests.

The Acting Defense Minister also said that High Security Zones were designated to ensure national security.
