AGAINST THOSE SLFP MEMBERS WHO HAVE TAKEN UP MINISTERIAL POSTS NO ACTION WOULD BE TAKEN

SLFP not to take action against 6 members who are part of govt.

Chairman of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) – Maithripala Sirisena has issued a letter indicating that disciplinary action will not be taken against six SLFP members who have obtained Ministerial portfolios.

The development comes after several rounds of discussions were held between the SLFP leadership and a group led by Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva.

After several members of the SLFP decided to support the government and obtained Ministerial posts, the party decided to remove the posts they held within the party, suspend them and commenced disciplinary action.

However, Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva challenged the decision in court.
