President agreed to all-party interim govt. with new PM – Maithri
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has agreed to form an interim government consisting of all political parties representing parliament with a new Prime minister and a new cabinet, says former President and SLFP chairman – Maithripala Sirisena.
Speaking to the media, he said that the President had made the agreement during a meeting with the 11 independent parties of the government that was held this morning.
National Consensus GovernmentMeanwhile, MP Jayantha Samaraweera said that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had positively responded to the proposals put forward for the creation of a All-Party Government which will be named as the “National Consensus Government”.
