Reservoirs full with ample rainfall!
The Chief Engineer of the Mahaweli Authority Nilantha Dhanapala said that the water level in the main reservoirs has increased by 77% due to the heavy rains exceeding 100 mm which fell in the catchment areas.
Currently, the water level in Kotmale has risen by 53.0%, Victoria by 49.5%, Randenigala by 63.7%, Rantambe by 30.5%, Bowatenna by 45.4% and Moragahakanda by 71.1%.
Meanwhile, the water level in Castlereagh rose to 71.7%, Maussakelle to 78.6%, Samanalawewa to 50.7% and Uda Walawe to 91.9%.
