The Court of Appeal will deliver the verdict on 06th June 2023 on the petition filed seeking a writ order to disqualify State Minister Diana Gamage from holding a parliamentary seat.

The decision was announced when the writ petition was taken up for hearing today (03) before the Appellate Court bench consisting of the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Nissanka Bandula Karunaratne and Justice A. Marikkar.

A writ petition had been filed against State Minister of Tourism Diana Gamage challenging her citizenship and right to hold a Parliamentary seat.

Filing the writ petition, civil activist Oshala Herath sought a ruling that Diana Gamage was unqualified to serve as a Member of the Sri Lankan Parliament due to her British citizenship.
