Groups at ‘Aragalaya’ to register political party!
Groups at the Galle Face protest have handed over documents to register a new political party.
They say that the documents were handed over to the Commission of Elections today (18).
The party has been named as the ‘Jana Aragalaye Purawesiyo’ (Citizens of the People’s Aragalaya).
Secretary of the party – Chanaka Bandara has said that although some groups attempted to misuse the Aragalaya, they would continue to represent the ambitions of the people.
He also said that no matter what challenges they will have to face, they would continue to all they can for the sake of the country’s development and the betterment of the people.
