Rajasthan Royals secure Sri Lankan spin duo at IPL 2025 auction

Sri Lankan spin duo Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana were picked up by the Rajasthan Royals on the first day of the 2025 IPL Mega Auction, held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia today (24).
Both spinners entered the auction with a base price of INR 20 million. Theekshana was sold first for INR 44 million, followed by Hasaranga, who fetched INR 52.5 million from the same franchise.
Theekshana and Hasaranga were the only Sri Lankan players featured in today’s auction, with the remaining players expected to be up for bidding tomorrow, on day two of the auction.
