The Western Province Road Passenger Transport Authority says that a probe has been initiated over reports of public being overcharged for using the public toilet at the private bus stand in Bastian Mawatha, Pettah.Although Rs. 20 is usually charged per person, the Authority says that the public has been charged twice the amount.

A notice has also been put up and there are also reports of verbal abuse against those who have questioned this practice.

Chairman of the Authority – Mr. Prasanna Sanjeewa said that the individuals who have secured the Tender in this regard will also be summoned before the Authority.
