Sri Lanka’s ‘Thun Hela Jana Gee Kalliya’ folk song group became the best performing group at the 6th International Ethnic Folklore Festival held in New Delhi, India.

They beat 13 other countries that participated in the festival by performing local dance items and folk songs.

A total of 36 dancers and singers from age three to 51 representing Pasindu Art Academy in Madiwela and Pamoda Art Academy in Narahenpita participated in the competition.

They arrived in the country from the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake this morning from New Delhi.
