Three killed and 39 injured in Matale bus accident
Three persons were reported dead and 39 others were injured in a bus accident reported in the Wilgamuwa area in Matale.
According to the Police, a bus had fallen into a precipice in the Elawakanda area in Matale on the Dambulla – Mahiyanganaya Road at around 7.30 this evening.
The bus had fallen into the precipice after colliding with a van travelling in the opposite direction.
Thirty-seven persons (37) in the private bus and five (05) persons in the van had been injured in the accident.
The injured were admitted to the Wilgamuwa Hospital after which two passengers of the bus and one passenger of the van had succumbed to injuries. (Newswire/ Image – Accident1st)
