Minister Kanaka’s vehicle attacked with gas cylinder!
The vehicle in which Kegalle District Parliamentarian Kanaka Herath was travelling in was attacked with a gas cylinder by a group of protesters at a gas queue at Ranwala New Road Junction, Kegalle.
The incident took place this morning when MP Kanaka Herath, the chief agent of Litro Gas Distribution in the Kegalle District, was passing a group of people who were queuing for gas at the Ranwala Junction in Kegalle.
The minister’s vehicle had tried to speed off when a person in the queue had attacked the vehicle with the gas cylinder he had in hand.
It is reported that Kanaka Herath, who has been the Chief Gas Sales Agent in the Kegalle District for nearly two decades, has a large number of Gas Distribution Agencies throughout the Kegalle District.
The people in the gas queue who were annoyed over the actions of a minister responsible for supplying gas to the Kegalle District, had blocked the road and engaged in a protest.
Meanwhile, Kegalle District Parliamentarian Udayakantha Goonetileke, who had returned to the scene shortly afterwards, had changed his route and fled the scene after being informed of the situation.
