Rajapaksa big brother reprimands Punchi Banda JAYASUNDARA SECRETARY TO PRESIDENT
Minister Chamal Rajapaksa had recently reprimanded Secretary to the President Punchi Banda Dissanayake (PB) Jayasundera, the Aruna newspaper reports.
He had reprimanded him over the fertilizer issue and the issued faced by Sri Lankans abroad in sending foreign exchange to the country.
According to political sources, P.B had been reprimanded in the presence of the President.
Before the recent cabinet meeting, PB had been in the President’s office signing cabinet papers with the President when several Rajapaksa family members including Mahinda and Chamal had gone there.
The President looked at his elder brother and said with a smile, “Big brother, tell me the stories that our MPs are saying about the Secretary.”
Taking advantage of the situation, Chamal Rajapaksa had spat out everything that was being told about PB in succession.
“The government MPs are saying that it is the things that you have done that has brought this government to disrepute. Not only that, the people are lambasting the President for what you are doing.”
Having got an earful from Chamal, PB had contacted several politicians affiliated to the government and said he would resign.
