China volunteers to donate rice to SL! 
The Chinese Embassy in Colombo said in a Twitter message that it hopes to donate 2,000 metric tons of rice worth about US $ 2.5 million to Sri Lanka.
It is reported that this stock of rice will be donated to Sri Lanka as an emergency food aid for the 70th anniversary of the Rubber and Rice Agreement between China and Sri Lanka. However, China said that it will continue to support the development of Sri Lanka in the future.
Sri Lanka earlier requested for a $ 2.5 billion loan from the Chinese government to address the current economic crisis.
