A petition has been filed before the Court of Appeal, seeking legal redress against former Minister of Sports – Roshan Ranasinghe, over the contempt of court.

The relevant petition was filed by an attorney-at-law today (Nov.29), referring to a recent parliament speech mad by the former minister.

The petitioning party has further requested the court to impose an appropriate punishment against Mr. Ranasinghe regarding the charges of contempt of court.
