Three bodies found in separate locations
The bodies of two men who died under suspicious circumstances have been found at Uhana and Peradeniya.
The body of a male was found at a paddy field in Himidurawa, Uhana last night (27). Police said the victim is a 37-year-old resident of the same area.
A dead body of a 64-year-old man was found at a field in Ilukkunuwa, Peradeniya.
Meanwhile, the body of another man was found in a canal at Karandibokku in Kilinochchi. Police said the deceased is a male aged between 40 and 50 years.
The Uhana, Peradeniya and Kilinochchi Police are conducting further investigations.

A special memorandum of understanding was signed between South Asia Gateway Terminals Pvt Ltd. and the Ministry of Health yesterday (27) under the programme to continuously supply Thriposha to pregnant mothers, lactating mothers and babies with low birth weight.
Under the MoU, the company will supply essential ingredients to produce Thriposha for a period of one year as a donation amounting to Rs.185 million.
The agreement was signed by South Asia Gateway Terminals Pvt Ltd CEO Romesh David, Health Secretary Janaka Sri Chandragupta and Sri Lanka Thriposha Limited
Chairman Deepthi Kularathne in the presence of Health Minister Dr. Keheliya Rambukwella.
Sri Lanka is the only country in Asia that provides Thriposha as an immediate remedy for babies with low weight, and nearly 200,000 Thriposha packets are produced per month to be distributed among pregnant and lactating mothers as well as children with low weight.

Illegal drugs have been transported across the country by food deliverers on motorbikes during the period when travel restrictions were imposed across the country due to COVID-19 pandemic, the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) said.
A report prepared by the NDDCB shows that there was no lack of circulation of drugs in the country since the smugglers have adopted special methods during the pandemic.
Motorbikes have been used to transport drugs outside of Colombo to the doorstep under the guise of delivering food.
An increased number of drug users have been identified during the pandemic and most of them were reported from the suburbs including Colombo.
The Palmyrah Development Board has terminated the services of a Deputy General Manager, and an Auditor for committing fraud.
Chairman of the Palmyrah Development Board Krishantha Pathiraja said another two employees have been suspended for the same incident.
The Ministry in-charge of the Palmyrah Development Board had launched a special audit with regard to a financial fraud of Rs. 38 Million, and abuse of power.
The Deputy General Manager, Auditor and two other employees were found guilty by the audit.
Chairman of the Palmyrah Development Board Krishantha Pathiraja said that the group had procured a device to produce palmyrah jaggery, however they had not made use of the device and neglected it completely.
Investigations had revealed that the Deputy General Manager, and the Auditor were serving at two universities and drawing salaries, while obtaining a salary from the Palmyrah Development Board.
