Reports state IMF officials will meet on 12 June to decide on the next tranche of USD 337 Mn, as part of the USD 2.9 Bn extended fund facility programme to Sri Lanka.

It is expected that the funds will be disbursed on the same day.

Sri Lanka has already received USD 667 Mn, in two tranches.

According to latest update of the ‘IMF tracker’ of Verité Research, Sri Lanka has failed to reach 25% of the commitment by end May 2024. The programme was renewed in December 2023.
