Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has filed a defamation lawsuit against Sports Minister – Roshan Ranasinghe.

In a statement, SLC says, the measure was taken in response to the ‘persistent and damaging defamatory statements’ made by the minister.

The lawsuit, jointly filed on Nov. 13 in the District Court of Colombo by the SLC President, Vice President and Treasurer, seeks damages amounting to Rs. 2.4 billion on behalf of the SLC.
