Jehan Appuhami reaches Galle Face bearing cross

Sri Lanka’s stage and television actor Jehan Appuhami completed his three-day trek to the President’s office carrying a life-sized cross on his shoulder, demanding justice for the victims of the 2019 Easter bombings

He began his journey after receiving blessings from the Katuwapitiya church.

Appuhami carried a large cross from Katuwapitiya to Galle Face, landing at the heart of an ongoing, weeks-long protest demanding President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and his administration to resign.

Actor Kalana Gunasekara also commenced a fast at the Galle Face protest site to back Jehan’s efforts. Gunasekara ended his fast after Jehan reached the protest site and was hospitalized for a few tests afterwards.
