Desmond de Silva & Gamini Ambalangoda no more
Two beloved Sri Lankan artistes – Desmond de Silva and Gamini Ambalangoda have passed away.
Mr. Desmond de Silva (77), who was beloved by music fans of several generations, had passed away in Melbourne. He was much beloved for catchy numbers such as ‘Yanna Rata Wate’, ‘Chuda Maanike Balaala’ and ‘Dora Erapan Aaya Suda’ as well as many other Baila renditions.
Mr. Gamini Ambalangoda, who was 66 years at the time of his death, had been of poor health since facing an accident in 2016, where he lost a part of his foot.
