Diana Gamage lodges police complaint
State Minister Diana Gamage filed a complaint with the Welikada Police.
The complaint filed by her says that SJB Parliamentarians Sujith Sanjaya Perera and Rohana Bandara had attacked her.
Meanwhile, following the incident, State Minister Diana Gamage was admitted to Sri Jayawardenepura Hospital for treatment.
A spokesperson of the hospital said she was discharged from the hospital following treatments.
Multiple videos related to the conflict between the two SJB Parliamentarians and state Minister Diana Gamage are currently circulating on social media.
The committee appointed to look into this matter says that they will commence investigations in this regard, on Monday.
The committee is being chaired by Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapakse.
He stated that he expects to present a report in this regard to the Speaker on the 7th of November.

A Presidential Election is set to take place in 2024 in accordance with the Constitution of Sri Lanka, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has revealed.
Furthermore, the Presidential Election is also set to be followed by a General Election, the Head of State said at a United National Party (UNP) convention held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium this afternoon (21 Oct.).
Addressing the Special General Convention of the UNP, President Wickremesinghe emphasized his commitment to bolstering the country’s economy by positioning Sri Lanka as a smart nation.
Accordingly, the Head of State outlined the timeline for upcoming elections in line with the constitutional provisions, and added that local government elections are expected to transpire in the first half of 2025.
The theme for this year’s UNP Anniversary convention was “Smart Country – 2048.” The vision behind this concept is a vision of an intelligent and prosperous Sri Lanka, where every citizen recognizes their potential, upholds virtuous goals, and embraces diversity while harnessing modern technology and nature to cultivate a nation of adept and resourceful individuals.
The Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Eheliyagoda Police station, Priyanka Silva, was found dead with gunshot injuries inside his quarters.
Police have initiated an investigation to establish whether this incident was a result of suicide or murder.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of Wadduwa.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe has returned to the island after concluding his four-day visit to China.
Accompanied by a high-level delegation, the Sri Lankan leader left for Beijing on October 16 to attend the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation which kicked off under the auspices of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The event witnessed the participation of heads of state from approximately 20 nations and representatives from over 130 countries. During the conference, President Xi unveiled a set of comprehensive policies, aligned with the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), reflecting its commitment to fostering global partnerships.
