The Cabinet has approved the issuance of a digitized driving license instead of the current driving license.
Cabinet Spokesman Minister Bandula Gunawardana said this while speaking at the Cabinet news briefing held today (11).
Accordingly, a digitized driving license with a QR code will be introduced in the near future instead of the current driving license with a chip.
Commenting further, the minister said a comprehensive study will be conducted to identify possible issues in the implementation of this system and then to issue a digitized driving license.
