Postal ballot distribution nears completion for presidential election
The Department of Posts has announced that 95% of the postal ballot papers for the upcoming presidential election have been distributed.
Senior Deputy Postmaster General Rajitha Ranasinghe noted that the remaining ballot papers, primarily allocated for military bases, will be dispatched tomorrow.
A total of 712,318 state sector employees are eligible to cast their votes by post in the 2024 election, with the highest number of eligible voters, 76,977, coming from the Kurunegala district.
The postal voting is scheduled for September 4, 5, and 6.
