DMT, NTMI limits working days
The Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) has said that their office will be closed on Thursdays and Fridays.
However, the Werahera office as well as the district offices in Gampaha and Anuradhapura will remain open on Thursdays for those who obtained online appointments to renew their driving licenses.
Those who had obtained appointments for July 01 can obtain the services on next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the DMT says.
To obtain services of the DMT, appointments can be obtained on working days from 9.00am – 4.00pm via 0707677877 (Vehicle Registration and Transfer) and 0707677977 (Driving License). Details can be inquired via Whatsapp / Viber / SMS messages after office hours, the DMT adds.
NTMI also closed for 2 days
Meanwhile, the National Transport Medical Institute (NMTI) also says that from this week onwards, services will not be provided on Fridays and Saturdays.
In a statement, NTMI Chiarman – Dr. Savindra Gamage says that however, appointments can be obtained for other working days via 225 on any mobile network, via 1225 on a landline or through e-channelling on their website – www.ntmi.lk. This will ensure a smoother service process, the statement adds.
