EIGHT DEMANDS TABLED BY ‘GotaGoGama’ FOR PEOPLE”S STRUGGLE

‘GotaGoGama’ people’s struggle tables 8 demands

Representatives of the Galle Face, GotaGoGama people’s struggle, for the first time have tabled a set of proposals on the 34th day of their struggle.

The eight point declaration has been named ‘People’s Demands Beyond Galle Face’ or ගාලුමුවදොරින් ඔබ්බට පුරවැසි ඉල්ලීම්.

The demands include the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, secondly the formation of an interim government limited to 15 Ministers for a period of 18-months, thirdly the abolition of the 20th Amendment to the Constitution and introducing a 21st Amendment, fourthly a relief budget, and fifthly a social security net for the vulnerable communities.The proposals also include auditing current Members of Parliament and transparent surveillance of crimes that have been committed financial and otherwise and ensuring the right to life which is a fundamental right of people irrespective of religion, ethnicities, and class.
