Update on emergency exercise scheduled at Ratmalana Airport
Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Pvt) Limited has announced a “Full-Scale Airport Emergency Exercise” scheduled to take place at Colombo International Airport, Ratmalana on December 17, 2024, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The exercise is a routine event conducted in compliance with national and international regulatory standards to test and enhance emergency preparedness.
Authorities have urged the public and media not to panic or misinterpret the activity as a real emergency, noting that it is a standard procedure.
“We want to ensure our media partners and the public are aware that this is a planned exercise, and there is no cause for alarm,” Sumith de Silva of Airport and Aviation Services said.
